Jesus is God is not so much a big deal for Christian believers. We all agree and subscribe to it, to believe other wise would be a denial of our faith. But Jesus being God is controversial that even most of the Christians can't fully justify the deity of Jesus. Knowing that Jesus is God is foundational to our faith. We anchor our faith not on religion, rules and regulations but to Jesus our God.
Jesus is not just another nice character in the Bible. He is not just another prophet like Jeremiah. He is not just another good teacher, wise man, social worker, compassionate leader, healer or good doer. Praise God He is not just like Moses, Isaiah, king David or Elijah but He is God. A God - skin on proving his love for man kind. Believing that Jesus is God is foundational to our faith knowing that we anchor it on a Solid Rock.The first four part of Matthew reveals to us important facts that support the deity of Jesus. The book of Matthew is a new beginning to mankind, here in He was introduce to us as a God. How? I'll just share three proofs in this blog on Jesus being God. The actual preaching I introduced six.
I- IN HIS CONCEPTION
Jesus like no other man is unique! He was not created. Created things are creatures and so they are not God. Everything created has a beginning and an end. But Jesus has no beginning and ending. He was sent not created. Adam who was also not born of a parent was expressedly stated in Genesis that He is created by God, dirtied his hands and gave him the breathe of life. But Jesus was a child of the Holy Spirit or conceived through the Holy Spirit.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[d]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.

II - IN HIS IDENTIFICATION (NAME)
His name reveals His nature. His name reveals his work. His name was not given to Him by Mary and Joseph, but God gave His name that reveals his nature! The name Jesus means Savior. A Savior can't be qualified as Savior if he is not perfect. His name reveals what he does. There's no one in this world who is qualified to save us than Jesus. And no one is perfect except God. Jesus is God.
He is also called Immanuel means God with Us. Jesus is called God with us. The incarnation is a theological term which means that God putting skin on and becoming into an image of a human. Plainly stated that Jesus is God with Us. Jesus is the exact revelation of the glory of God. No one know the Father except the Son and No one knows the Son except the Father.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f] because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g] (which means “God with us”).
III - IN HIS POSITION
When Jesus was born, a group of Magi's or wise men were in search for Him. Because at this point in time it was revealed that a Messiah will be born. The wise man traveled and found Jesus as a child (not an infant in the manger). These pagan Magi's brought gifts to Jesus and worshiped Him. Worship belongs to God only. considering that they are Pagans were a Big deal to recognize that the child born is actually a God. When these magi's came to worship Him, Joseph and Mary did not dis agree because they also know that this child born is indeed the Son of God.
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2: 9-10
Jesus is not just another wonderful addition in the Bible. He is the character that changed it all. He is the hope of glory! He is the fulfillment. Jesus is not just a prophet, a good doer, a compassionate leader, a healer or a wise person - JESUS IS GOD where we put our faith and hope in. That is awesome our God came because of love!
