These are the list of top 10 books I read in 2011. Books are awesome and I love them!I never imagined to be a book lover!Leaders are readers. If you want to continuously lead you have to continuously read!These books influenced me so much with how I see life, live life and go through it! Its really good to learn from the success, failures and experiences of other people! But the best among all I've read is none other than the best book in the world-THE HOLY BIBLE!Its a lamp unto my feet a light unto my path!This book is life to me!So, here's the list.(not in order)
1. TOO BUSY NOT TO PRAY - BILL HYBELS. It teaches us the importance of prayer and our intimate relationship with God. The more you are busy the more you ought to pray!
2. THE POWER OF WHISPERS - BILL HYBELS. A book sequel on prayer. I cried while reading the introduction this book at PCBS!And it was the only stock left. It teaches us to clearly align our ears toward heaven and listen to life-changing and revolutionary whispers of God! I can relate so much! His whispers wreck my life 4 years ago as a reason why I'm doing His will not mine! Totally revolutionary!
3. BOY MEETS GIRL(reread) - JOSHUA HARRIS. It pays to be reminded always! The coming together of romance and wisdom!Awesome book!
4. STICKY CHURCH - LARRY OSBORNE. I looked for this book in almost all bookstores in Manila and CDO! Very nice book on how to make the church on the position of steady growth! I love this!
5. PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH (reread) - RICK WARREN.Read this book 3 years ago! Its an encouragement how to make our churches relevant, truth-oriented, engaging and appealing in presenting the life-transforming gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!
6. MAKING LIFE WORK - BILL HYBELS. I love proverbs! Totally practical and life changing book! I almost cried every end of the chapter and I said, "God make me this kind of person!" One of a kind! This book is a gem!I recommend for all!
7. CAN WE DO THAT!24 Innovative ways of doing church!-ANDY STANLEY & ED YOUNG JR. Hearing from two of my favorite pastors on how they do church is refreshing! Very creative, strategic and inspiring! I see a vibrant and life-changing church! learning from their experiences is worth the amount of the book!
8. WHEN LEADERSHIP AND DISCIPLESHIP COLLIDE- BILL HYBELS. What if the teachings of Christ on leadership and discipleship come together in your life? It must have been very impactful! This short book is full of insights and principles! Worth the read! Confession: This is just around 70+ pages book its worth 500+Php I dint buy one I just read it in the bookstore. Visited two time to finish reading!haha.This is the partner book of Making Vision Stick by Andy Stanley I read last 2010!
9. FIT TO BE TIED - LYNE AND BILL HYBELS. - This Golden Medallion Awardee Book is totally awesome! Its very honest, inspiring and practical! I love how the Hybel's penned their love story and marriage!I love the marriage of Chelsea and Judah Smith, Sandra- Andy Stanley although not included in the book. I'm looking forward to learning from their marriage experience! Pray, Plan, Prepare!
10. THE HOLY BIBLE - THE HOLY SPIRIT. Nothing beats the ages and centuries writing from this books! Its the source of all the book in 1-9 I've read! Ill keep on reading everyday! Its my bread of life!Special mention the book of Proverbs, Romans, Colossians and Hebrews! Great content!Life-changing an life-giving!
